When this was a huge problem for me I wrote Bible verses on index cards and kept a few in my pocket and read them frequently during the day. I also had a couple of index card booklets and kept one in my purse. We can't trust ourselves to control our thoughts, but we can always trust God's Word. I often prayed or sang the following hymn verse:
Jesus, be with me and direct me.
Jesus, my thoughts and plans inspire.
Jesus, from tempting thoughts protect me.
Jesus, be all my heart's desire.
Jesus, be in my thoughts all day,
Nor suffer me to fall away.

Praise God Jesus brought us forgiveness by His perfect life, His death, and His resurrection.
Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5558905705479680839.post-83116201820189780982011-05-28T18:29:05.927-05:002011-05-28T18:29:05.927-05:00Had to come back to this one, as I am struggling b...Had to come back to this one, as I am struggling big time.Just Be Realhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15815210059310140144noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5558905705479680839.post-20981713478518773822011-04-02T06:01:19.408-05:002011-04-02T06:01:19.408-05:00HI Paula. In turn, I will be stopping by your blog more often to be strengthened in my faith walk! When I was reading your profile, I thought about the saying, "God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called." You seem to obviously be qualified . . . and by your powerfully Spirit written posts . . . you are DEFINITELY called! ;) I have read both of the books you have mentioned and loved them both. Joyce Meyer had an enormous influence on my surrendering to Christ and transforming my mind. It has made ALL the difference. The keys you listed are critical to a life in Christ! Thank you for the reminders!!!
Blessings,
CherieCherie Hillhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14560483336790854099noreply@blogger.com
